The Chicago Cubs signed second baseman Bobby Deeb’04, Brown’s all-time hits leader, and sent him briefly to the rookie-league Mesa (Arizona) Cubs before promoting him to Class A Boise (Idaho).… The Philadelphia Flyerssigned Brent Robinson’04, Brown’s best scorer for the past three seasons, to a two-year entry-level contract.… Major League Lacrosse’s Baltimore Bayhawkspicked goaltender Mike Levin’04, a three-time All-Ivy selection, in the second round of the league’s draft in June.… The Pittsburgh Penguinschose forward Brian Ihnacak‘07, last season’s Ivy League and ECAC rookie of the year, in the ninth round of the 2004 National Hockey League entry draft; Brian is the son of former Toronto Maple Leafs center Peter Ihnacak.… The NHL’s San Jose Sharkssigned defenseman Scott Ford’04, who was the ECAC’s Best Defensive Defenseman last year.… The NHL’s Los Angeles Kingspicked incoming freshman Paul Baier, a defenseman, in the third round of the entry draft.
