arbus.jpgDiane Arbus's 1970 "Family in Brooklyn" is among the 200 images in "The Art of Caring: A Look at Life Through Photography," on display at the New Orleans Museum of Art through October 19. The show traces photography's role in galvanizing social action, from documentarians W. Eugene Smith and Gordon Parks to contemporary photographers such as Nan Goldin and Annie Leibovitz and young, emerging artists. It was the brainchild of art collector Zachary Morfogen '50, the founder of two major U.S. hospice organizations.
