What About the Women?

January 4th, 2012

The article by Dan Alexander '12 about the 1986 Ivy League championship men's basketball team begins by noting that the accomplishment was "the only Ivy League Championship a Brown basketball team has ever won" ("The Road to the Rest of Their Lives," November/December).

As a proud supporter of Brown's women's basketball program, I must protest that this sentence fails to recognize the six Ivy Championships won by women's basketball. The 1992 to 1994 teams won three consecutive Ivy Championships and sported a combined record of fifty-nine wins and twenty-one losses.
