The edited version of my letter omits my mention of an error in Raymond Rhinehart’s side story on the Beneficent Congregational Church (Mail Room, “Special Places,” November/December). As a matter of fact, the church building is no longer topped by a gilded dome, the gold leaf having been replaced more than six years ago by copper, now oxidized to a dark green patina.
