The bronze statue of Caesar Augustus that presides over Wriston Quad has endured a lot of abuse over its 102 years. Pigeons regularly use poor Caesar as a resting spot, and generations of students have decorated him with paint and other materials. Caesar lost his right arm to the hurricane of 1938; it was replaced but then lost again. This fall, an unidentified orthopedically minded visitor, fashioned Caesar a new limb from what looked like packing tape. For a brief moment, Caesar hailed the breakfast crowd.
