Best Behavior

March 10th, 2009

I strongly agree with the letter from Jeff Brown '00 criticizing the "Best Behavior" depicted in the November/December issue (Elms). One cannot read the sign, which is directed at construction workers, without getting the sense that Brown feels its Ivy League students belong to a special, privileged class and that blue-collar construction workers need to be reminded that they are in the presence of their social superiors. I was embarrassed for the University when I saw it. I was even more embarrassed that BAM saw this as a cute image for alumni to chuckle over.
