The article by Dan Alexander '12 about the 1986 Ivy League championship men's basketball team begins by noting that the accomplishment was "the only Ivy League Championship a Brown basketball team has ever won" ("The Road to the Rest of Their Lives," November/December).

As a proud supporter of Brown's women's basketball program, I must protest that this sentence fails to recognize the six Ivy Championships won by women's basketball. The 1992 to 1994 teams won three consecutive Ivy Championships and sported a combined record of fifty-nine wins and twenty-one losses.

League Championships are as hard earned as they come. The Brown women's team has a history to be proud of, including taking giving perennial powerhouse UConn a significnt scare in the first round of the NCAA tournament. I would be proud to have my daughter play basketball at Brown!

Thank you Christopher! As a member of the 2006 women's basketball team, I take pride in wearing our championship ring. Lifting weights and running sprints at five in the morning shows no mercy on any basketball player, male or female.
