As many readers have rightly scolded us, our November/December story about the 1986 men’s basketball team wrongly claimed that the 1986 team was the only Ivy championship  Brown baskeball has ever won. The women’s team has won six.

The caption for the photo opening The Classes in the January/February issue states that the date of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech at Brown coincided with Richard Nixon’s concession speech for the 1960 presidential election, thereby making John F. Kennedy Jr. the nation’s thirty-fifth president. That president was John F. Kennedy. His son and future Brown student John F. Kennedy Jr. ’83, wasn’t  born until sixteen days later.
