After two seasons at Penn State, Bill O’Brien ’92 became head coach of the NFL’s Houston Texans.… After coaching stops in the NFL with Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Cleveland, as well as a stint with the University of Miami, Mark Whipple ’80 became head football coach at UMass, the school he led to a national championship in 1998.… Defensive back Emory Polley ’14 was selected to the American Football Coaches Association Football Championship Subdivision Coaches’ All-America first team.… Ten Bears received Academic All-Ivy accolades as key contributors who also maintained a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average: MC Barrett ’14 (women’s soccer), Heidi Caldwell ’14 (women’s cross-country), Kathryn Conner ’15 (volleyball), James McNamara ’14 (water polo), Shannon McSweeney ’15 (field hockey), Alison Mullin ’14 (women’s soccer), Alexander Norocea ’14 (football), Adewole Oyalowo ’14 (football), Josh Weiner ’14 (men’s soccer), and Michael Yules ’14 (football).… Chivas USA selected Thomas McNamara ’13 in the second round of the 2014 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.… Clay DelPrince ’13, Sam Ford ’13, and Roger Ferguson ’13 were selected in the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.… Brown was selected to host the 2015 NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey East Regional and the 2016 NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse quarterfinals.
