Driving home from the January 2017 Women’s March on Washington, Kira Ganga Kieffer ’08 and her husband, Aaron Eisman ’08, came up with the idea to launch YouLobby.org, a streamlined way for regular people to give voice to their concerns with elected officials. “You Are What Democracy Looks Like,” proclaims the site’s homepage, where constituents can type in their zip code to access their representatives’ phone numbers. A list of issues—including foreign policy, gun control, and health care—are featured with sample scripts, talking points, and tips for making calls more effective. According to Kieffer, the site has helped Americans from all 50 states make well over 15,000 calls.
