While the baseball team thrived, the softball team struggled. Under the tutelage of first-year head coach DeeDee Enabenter-Omidiji, Brown lost eighteen heartbreaking games by three runs or fewer. The team is young, however—it included no seniors this year—so should improve in 2008.

»Men’s Rowing

The men continued their consistency on the Seekonk River and in late April was ranked third in the nation. The team notched impressive wins in the Dreissigacker Cup and the Atlanta Cup. With seven seniors on the roster, the Bears were poised to make a run to dethrone Harvard, which has won three consecutive national championships.

»Women’s Crew

Ranked second in the country, the women have been contending for the national championship all season long. As of late April, they had a 5–1 record, thanks to impressive wins over Boston University, Columbia, and Cornell. Despite a tough loss to Yale on April 28, the women hope to win their first national championship since 2004 in late May.
