The project began when literary arts professor C. D. Wright approached Walter Feldman, now an emeritus professor of visual arts, with what she described as “a black poem.” A printer, bookmaker, and artist, Feldman created block prints to illustrate it, and then printed the accordion book on archival paper at his Ziggurat Press.  It’s nothing short of breathtaking.
