Ten student-athletes—five men and five women—with a 3.0 or better grade point average were named Academic All-Ivy: Sam Kernan-Schloss ’13 (men’s soccer), Nathan Lovett ’12 (football), Dan Lowry ’12 (men’s cross-country), Rob Medairos ’12 (men’s soccer), Svetozar Stefanovic ’13 (men’s water polo), Allison Kagawa ’12 (women’s soccer), Sarah Hebert-Seropian ’12 (women’s soccer), Eliza Marshall ’13 (women’s soccer), Bridget McNamara ’12 (field hockey), and Megan Tuohy ’12 (women’s golf).… Oklahoma City goaltender Yann Danis ’04 was selected to play in the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic.… After a series of injuries to starting players, on October 29 the Philadelphia Flyers called up speedy rookie Harry “Harry Z” Zolnierczyk ’11, who quickly became the team’s fourth-line center and has been averaging more than seven minutes of ice time per game.… Attackman Chazz Woodson ’05 was the first overall selection in the 2012 Major League Lacrosse Supplement Draft, while assistant Brown coach and attackman Steven Boyle was the third overall choice. Attackman David Hawley ’11 was picked in the 11th round, and midfielder Brady Williams ’09 was taken in the eighteenth.… Dan Kantrovitz ’01 was named the St. Louis Cardinals’ director of scouting. Drafted as a player by the Cardinals in 2001, he spent four years in the front office before a short stint as an executive with the Oakland Athletics.
