With the release of his next movie, A Quiet Place II, pushed to September, John Krasinski ’01 had time on his hands. He came up with Some Good News, a Weekend Update–style show broadcast from his home, where, like so many of the rest of us, he wears a suit on his top half and boxers (or sometimes a tutu) on the bottom as he curates reasons to smile. He also roped  in celebs from Billie Eilish to Oprah to the cast of Hamilton. Dubbed “America’s Quarantine Dad” by Slate, Krasinski, who threw a “prom” for America’s high school seniors, managed to take Eilish’s brother’s compliment in stride:  “Whenever a dad does anything that’s super nice and wholesome, it makes me want to cry,” the musician  said, to which the former People magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” replied, “I love that you think I’m a dad first, because I think I’m a dad first, too.” In episode 4, Krasinski had astronauts appearing to livestream  from the International Space Station, holding the SGN logo. One of them was Jessica Meir ’99, who overlapped with Krasinski at Brown but didn’t know him. “I wish!” she told BAM. “I don’t think that John had any idea I went to Brown!” Crewmate Drew Morgan’s kids replicated the SGN logo and  emailed it to the ISS. “We had a lot of fun with it,” Meir reports.
