Orly Genger '01 takes needlework out of the parlor and into the factory. Her industrial-scale knotted sculpture Big Boss practically explodes across the floor at Mass MoCA, in western Massachusetts. Made with 100 miles of rope knotted with a variant on a crochet stitch and painted a brilliant red, the site-specific installation is part of the exhibition "Material World: Sculpture to Environment," which will be on display through February 27, 2011.
