It was great to see a BAM spread dedicated to start-up small businesses in Providence’s Knowledge District (“Human Capital,” Elms, March/April).
I’d guess that the ratio of articles in the BAM is about ten focusing on graduates doing work in public service to one trying to build a for-profit enterprise and—may I say it?—make money.
I do believe that the stuff you are writing about predominantly is indeed “God’s work” (although Lloyd Blankfein might not agree with me), but it’s good to acknowledge people who get out of Brown and want to build companies, employ people, build wealth, and pay taxes. That’s how America got to be able to do and still does so much for so many here and across the globe. May BAM tell more of those stories!
