The Pausch Difference

September 8th, 2008

The world lost an important force for good—an inspirational role model—on July 25, 2008, when Randy Pausch '82 finally lost his brave battle against pancreatic cancer ("It's Not Time Yet," November/December).

Few people get a chance to know with certainty that they made a difference during their lives. There is some small consolation in knowing that Randy did. Randy's family has asked that donations on his behalf be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN ) or to the Randy Pausch Memorial Fund at Carnegie Mellon. I encourage Brown alumni, and anyone else moved and inspired by Randy, to donate generously to PanCAN at www.firstgiving.com/randypausch .

Our heartfelt condolences and sympathies go to Jai and the family at this most difficult time.
