Brown loves PVD
Musicians thank Providence

Brown student musicians raised roughly $20,000 during the “Thank You PVD” benefit concert held at The Strand Ballroom in March. The money will go to the Brown Loves Providence initiative, created to reciprocate the care and compassion shown to the University by the local community in the aftermath of the mass shooting on December 13, 2025.

With help from volunteers across Brown, Providence, and the national student mental-health nonprofit No Empty Seats, Theodore Coben ’28 and Ellison Mucharsky ’26 organized the student-led show.

This was for the “entire Providence community,” said volunteer Mia-Nathalie Pridgen ’26. “To show our appreciation, our love, our thanks, and also give back financially.”
