More than 500 classmates and their guests celebrated a wonderful twenty-fifth reunion over four glorious days filled with banter, barbecues, and a brunch with Providence mayor "Buddy" Cianci.

We kicked off the weekend on Friday night with a gathering in Arnold Lounge, our headquarters. President Simmons stopped by, her first stop of Reunion 2002, to accept our class gift of nearly $4.7 million, which was presented to her by Jonathan Nelson and Josh Fidler. Next came a gala dinner under our own tent on the Green. Afterward, more than 300 of us made our way to Campus Dance.

On Saturday we packed a tent and numerous tables at the family lunch picnic. The best part was hearing Rusty Magee sing! The day was topped off by a champagne-and-dessert reception, followed by the pops concert.

On Sunday we gathered on Lincoln Field for an hour with President Simmons and then paid tribute to our classmates who have passed away at the all-class memorial service. Later, at our class brunch and seminar, Mayor Cianci discussed the revitalization of Providence over the past twenty-five years, and classmates got a chance to hear the student a cappella group, the Higher Keys. The cocktail party that night at Cafe Nuovo in downtown Providence was outdone only by the incredible sight of WaterFire created by Barnaby Evans '75.

Many classmates, family, and friends participated in the march on Monday to celebrate our support for Brown! As the sun shone brightly, we ended a magnificent weekend.

If you didn't make it back to campus for the reunion, check out our Web site, alumni.brown. edu/classes/1977, to see what you missed. Hats off to Jay Sherry and his committee for planning a great event! Thanks to everyone who came - it was a great twenty-fifth!

See you in 2007.
