Life-Changing Poet

September 4th, 2014
Poet Afaa Michael Weaver ’87 AM is the kind of student that makes Brown such a great place in which to live and study (“The Oracle,” Arts & Culture, July/August). As one of my first moves into the New Curriculum in 1970, I took a course in African American literature. It’s no hyperbole to say that course changed the life of this southern boy from Dallas.
