Thanks to Lawrence Goodman for the flattering article on my autumn years ("True Grit," Classes, September/October). But I write primarily to apologize. Readers who may have sought my skiing guidance this winter at The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah, were probably greeted with "Bill who?" After rupturing my quad tendons walking around in ski boots in December, I had to take the rest of the season off. So try again next winter, please, if you are still interested.
Thanks to all those who communicated with me after Goodman's profile, some from as far away as Japan and Europe. I welcome contact from others if I can help them with winter things in Park City.
