When we last checked in with Gabi Lewis ’13 and Greg Sewitz ’13 in late 2014, they were making high-protein energy bars with flour made of ground-up crickets. After selling that company, Exo, to Aspire Food Group in 2018, they turned their attention to a super-market staple: breakfast cereal. Magic Spoon launched  in April 2019 and currently comes in six flavors—fruity, frosted, cocoa, nutty, cinnamon, and blueberry. “Cereal should bring the same excitement it did when you were a kid,” they said. The high-protein, low-carb cereal, only available online, is sweetened with allulose, monk fruit extract, and stevia.
